‘COVID-19 pandemic’ and ‘US Presidential Elections’ are the most read items on Wikipedia in 2020

As the year 2020 comes close to its end, the free online encyclopedia, Wikipedia, has issued a list of its 10 most-read topics of the year.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been the most read item followed by the ‘US presidential elections’ topped the list of the top reads of Wikipedia.

As being reported, the global pandemic has topped the list of most-read articles on Wikipedia this year, with the coronavirus page or related articles being read more than 83,040,504 times.

Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, Joe Biden, and the 2020 United States presidential election generated up 152 million combined views. They ranked Nos. 2, 4, 5, and 9, respectively.

After reading about the coronavirus, people were most interested in reading about US President Donald Trump, making him the second on the list of most-read articles.

The Articles related to Donald Trump in total have 5,54,72,791 views.

The third most searched item was “Deaths in 2020”.  The phrase has total views of 4,22,62,147.

On the fourth spot of the most searched and read items in 2020 is US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, with recorded 38,319,706 views.

Meanwhile, articles related to US  President-elect Joe Biden are in 5th position with 34,281,120

Articles on late NBA star Kobe Bryant were ranked 7th most read items with 32,863,656 views.

COVID-19 pandemic by country and territory has been ranked 8th with 28,575,982 views.

Wikipedia has almost 7,000 pages with material about COVID-19 that have generated almost 580 million combined page views.

2020 United States presidential election, in on the list at 9th spot with  24,313,110 views.

While the 10th most viewed on the list are about  Queen Elizabeth II, with 24,147,675 views
