Jofra Archer joins in Twitteratis to bash controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen for her stern words against Moeen Ali.
World Cup hero and England pacer Jofra Archer was among the millions of Twitter users who hit back at Taslima Nasreen for her controversial tweet on England all-rounder Moeen Ali.
Creating controversy is not new for the 58-year-old Bangladeshi author, who often tries to gain attention with her writings on criticism of religion and women’s oppression.
For those who didn’t know, Taslima Nasreen for her controversial writings has received death threats from radical Muslim groups.
That led her to leave her native country and adopt Swedish citizenship.
Coming back to the controversial comments, this time Jofra Archer was the one who had to remind the lady that she is out of her mind.
Are you okay ? I don’t think you’re okay https://t.co/rmiFHhDXiO

“Sarcastic ? No one is laughing, not even yourself, the least you can do is delete the tweet,” he commented on the author’s other tweet.

The Mymensingh-born Nasreen in her now-deleted tweet had said, “If Moeen Ali were not stuck with cricket, he would have gone to Syria to join ISIS.”
Moeen Ali has been in Mumbai with the Chennai Super Kings, gearing up for Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021.
Ali was bought by CSK for Rs 7 crore at the IPL 2021 auction.
A number of social media users went to report her controversial tweet labeling it as hateful content.
Reporting this tweet for spreading violent and hatred. Kindly respect personal choices untill it affects you as an individual.
Mam,if it doesn't affects you at any level then refrain commenting or feeding them.We look upto you for your talent, don't let it take you down. Sigh!!

Reporting this tweet for its hateful content.

However, Nasreen, defended her post on Moeen Ali, saying it was sarcastic and her detractors used it against her.
“Haters know very well that my Moeen Ali tweet was sarcastic. But they made that an issue to humiliate me because I try to secularize Muslim society & I oppose Islamic fanaticism. One of the greatest tragedies of humankind is pro-women leftists support anti-women Islamists,” Nasreen said in another social media post.

Here is how Twitter reacts to the author’s comments:
I am a British humanist and secularist, and not a leftist. And I can’t see in what way your tweet was “sarcastic”. It certainly wasn’t funny. Attacking a decent man on the basis of his religion is not sarcasm.
— Jeremy Rodell (@jeremyr1) April 6, 2021
So now you claim the tweet was sarcastic, while at the same time claiming it is anti "Islamist"!
— Kavita Krishnan (@kavita_krishnan) April 6, 2021
Very disappointing tweet from you.
Absolutely Bizzare.
Just because Moin Ali is a practicing Muslim you can say anything against him? It's not a joke at all.— Shreyas Sharma (@ilooseoften) April 5, 2021
Just because he has beard and happen to be of Pakistani origin?
